When a device only needs to control two poles of power within a circuit, such as circuit breakers, RCDs, timers, or contactors, it is commonly used to hold DIN rail-mounted components. A "two pole enclosure" is a small electrical housing made to contain and protect two electrical conductors, usually a live wire and a neutral wire.
